As expected on the cgtalk.com competition dubbed Stan Winston tribute, the competition is of the finest quality. I'm finding it a great way of guaging what level of skill I'm reaching. Guys like Alex Oliviera, Tim Callaway, Krishamurti Costa, Wyatt Harris and Majid Smiley are all setting the standard so far.. This competition has been a real challenge for me and I've learned much from it already. I believe if I keep working at this and push myself I can win. One of the main problems I've been having is getting together enough reference for the Predator from the original movie. He is also carrying a great deal of items which are detailed and its time consuming adding everything. All I can do in this situation is get as much done with the time allowed.

It may appear like little work has been done since the 20th, but I assure you many hours of work have gone into it.. Detailing the Predator and all the junk he's carrying is taking some time, slowly but surely I'm getting there and well on target to completion on the 15th of September.

I've entered the Stan Winston tribute, the first competition I have entered yet due to college. I'm up against some extremely talented modellers and I will need to raise my standard if I've any change of winning. Here is how the Predator is currently looking

I've finished this sculpt, gotta leave it alone...at least for now. I've found out today about the Hardcore Modeling Mini Challenge at CGTalk.com based on the late, great Stan Winston's work. It was me who suggested having a challenge to commerate him and I'm excited about entering this. The standard of work on display is going to be incredible and if I can win it I'd be amazed
